I'm super pleased with this workcenter. It looks really nice, it's solid and it has great storage. Most of it is solid wood and quite pretty. The large flat panels on the lower back and sides and the bottom of the open shelf are veneer over some very thin wood.It seemed kind of cheap, but actually looks nice.Every thing else is solid wood and very heavy.
The assembly instructions are well written and easy to follow.I put together the back by myself. But as I said the piece is heavy and that makes it hard work to assemble.I ended up hiring a professional assembler to do it which cost $50.00.
The storage is wonderful. The top shallow drawer holds 80% of my cutlery and cooking utensils, 100% of what I use every day.The bottom drawers hold my pasta pot and strainer, a small crock pot, muffin pans, cake pans, and plenty more.I keep my bowls on the open shelf, they look nice and it's great to have them so handy.
I am so happy with it I just ordered the microwave cart.I'm giving 4 out of 5 stars because the butcher block top needed sanding.
