Protective Covers 1176 Cantilever Umbrella Cover, 10 feet Review

I bought this because it was described as a Cantilever Umbrella Cover, figuring it would work for my "offset umbrella".There are several things that make this mostly unsuitable for our use.First, the color is a gray-green, which isn't very attractive, and doesn't go with any of the other deck furnishings or covers.Secondly, the top is too narrow.When closed, the top of the umbrella and pole need more room than this cover allows.It's very snug, and I had to lift it up a bit to get it to fit.Thirdly, the "lift rod" is a couple of pieces if 3/4 inch PVC tubing with a union.It does not attach to the umbrella, so there is no where to store it.You have to put it somewhere, which means it's not easily available when you want to take the cover off or put it on.And to use it, you just push it on the underside of the cover top.It's not very handy for putting the cover on, because the snug top means the cover does not settle on the umbrella, so you still need a chair to adjust the cover.And then you have to zip it, which you can't reach from the ground, so you still need the chair.

I do like the quality of the fabric, the length, which is not too long (that destroyed another cover we bought because it constantly rubbed on the bottom of the stand), and the elastic band around the bottom to deter flying critters from making a home in the umbrella, but those don't outweigh the negatives.I think this is going back.

We buy a lot from Amazon, but I haven't found a good offset umbrella cover yet (zero for three).
