Protective Covers 1176 Cantilever Umbrella Cover, 10 feet Review

Protective Covers 1176 Cantilever Umbrella Cover, 10 feetI bought this because it was described as a Cantilever Umbrella Cover, figuring it would work for my "offset umbrella".There are several things that make this mostly unsuitable for our use.First, the color is a gray-green, which isn't very attractive, and doesn't go with any of the other deck furnishings or covers.Secondly, the top is too narrow. When closed, the top of the umbrella and pole need more room than this cover allows. It's very snug, and I had to lift it up a bit to get it to fit.Thirdly, the "lift rod" is a couple of pieces if 3/4 inch PVC tubing with a union. It does not attach to the umbrella, so there is no where to store it.You have to put it somewhere, which means it's not easily available when you want to take the cover off or put it on.And to use it, you just push it on the underside of the cover top. It's not very handy for putting the cover on, because the snug top means the cover does not settle on the umbrella, so you still need a chair to adjust the cover. And then you have to zip it, which you can't reach from the ground, so you still need the chair.

I do like the quality of the fabric, the length, which is not too long (that destroyed another cover we bought because it constantly rubbed on the bottom of the stand), and the elastic band around the bottom to deter flying critters from making a home in the umbrella, but those don't outweigh the negatives.I think this is going back.

We buy a lot from Amazon, but I haven't found a good offset umbrella cover yet (zero for three).

Classy, but without sacrificing anything in terms of durability, the cover is constructed with 7-millimeter heavy duty vinyl making it the toughest cover on the market. And, the subtle gray color offers maximum protection from the sun's damaging UV rays.Best of all, the cover's 4-ounce fleece backing won't shed on furniture while keeping the waterproof vinyl shell from scratching and tearing, so the cover itself looks as good as what it protects for years to come.

New Tan Instant Gazebo Offset Patio Umbrella W/ Mesh Review

New Tan Instant Gazebo Offset Patio Umbrella W/ MeshI purchased this umbrella for my patio in Seattle. The feet aren't wide enough to support the product. So we strapped it down by placing weights on the feet. This helped it to stand up without tipping forward, until a very small summer breeze blew through. The cloth acted as a sail and began twisting the umbrella back and forth, side to side. The corners would dip down to about 3 feet, then fly back upwards. The plastic cap that holds the arm in the upright position only stays on for about 10 minutes. Then it pops off causing the umbrella part to fall downward a few feet. The two knobs that are supposed to keep the arm from twisting around the base do not hold, and eventually loosen after a few minutes.
You could probably screw it down to a wood deck (hardware not included) and then stake down each corner. But that defeats the purpose of it being adjustable.
I know it sounds like it went thru a hurricane, but that was just a lazy afternoon in the breeze. After a week of flapping, twisting and dipping, we have given up on it.
I'm not paying money to ship it back but if you're still interested in the product check craigslist. That's where mine will be.
